Study: Lying with the truth is risky

A recent study examined whether people can in fact tell the difference between lying by commission, omission or paltering, which is using a truthful statement to deceive. Findings showed 71 percent of participants chose to palter to avoid the repercussions. ÃÛÌÒtv Professor Joseph Toomey discusses the findings in the New England Psychologist and explains how paltering can lead to more consequences than actual lying.
